When to go

Sri Lanka in May and June: Weather, Festivals and Where to Go

Quick answer

In May and June the south-west monsoon brings rain and rough seas to the south and west coasts, while the east coast (Trincomalee, Pasikuda, Arugam Bay) and the Cultural Triangle are mostly dry. Vesak and Poson celebrations can add cultural interest; check dates for your travel year. Prices and crowds vary by destination.
