First or last night near the airport
After a long flight, many travellers spend their first night in Negombo, close to the airport, before starting a tour.
Arriving in Sri Lanka
Most international flights land at Bandaranaike International Airport, near Negombo, north of Colombo. After immigration, baggage collection and customs, you will find currency exchange counters and mobile SIM card desks in the arrivals area.
Your driver meets you outside the arrivals hall with a name sign and helps with your luggage to the car.
Popular first stops
If you land late or after a long flight, spend the first night in Negombo, close to the airport. Otherwise, many travellers drive straight to the Cultural Triangle, to Kandy, or south to the beaches via the expressway.
