Highlights

  • Sigiriya rock fortress and water gardens
  • Dambulla Cave Temple
  • Optional: Minneriya or Kaudulla safari
  • Optional: Pidurangala for sunset

How the day runs

We collect you early from your hotel in Kandy, Sigiriya, Dambulla or Habarana and drive to Sigiriya to start the climb before the heat builds. After the rock and the museum, we stop for lunch, often at a village restaurant, and then visit the Dambulla cave temple.

In the afternoon, you can add a jeep safari at Minneriya or Kaudulla in season, or a climb of Pidurangala for sunset, before driving back.

What to bring

Comfortable shoes with grip, a hat, sunscreen and water. Bring clothing that covers your shoulders and knees for Dambulla, or a sarong to wrap around, and socks for the hot stone floors.

Good to know
