About the Pekoe Trail

The Pekoe Trail is a 300 km long-distance walking route through Sri Lanka's tea country, divided into 22 stages from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, passing Horton Plains, Haputale and Ella. You don't need to walk all of it: most travellers choose the most beautiful stages and combine them with other hikes.

What's different about walking with us

  • Your driver carries your luggage and meets you at the end of each walk.
  • Local guides for forest and mountain trails where needed.
  • Flexible days: if it rains, we swap the walk for a shorter route or a rest.
  • Comfortable hotels to recover each night.

What to bring

  • Walking shoes with good grip and comfortable socks.
  • A light rain jacket and a warm layer for the hills.
  • A day pack, water bottle, sun hat and sunscreen.
  • Leech socks for forest trails after rain.

Good to know

  • Adam's Peak is a pilgrimage climb, busiest on full moon (Poya) weekends.
  • Mornings are clearest; we plan early starts.
